About
Welcome to MP3 Bike Speaker
Cycling is a great and affordable way of getting around town, getting to work, and staying fit and healthy. Though enjoying the scenery can be a pleasant way to pass a ride, having a bit of music on can really help the time pass a bit quicker and keep you motivated. MP3 bike speakers are a popular and safe way to play music while you’re cycling.
A lot of people just stick a pair of ear buds in from their iPod, but this isn’t really that comfortable and can pose quite a hazard, as it stops you hearing what is happening around you.
Up until recently, there wasn’t really a safe way of listening to music as you rode your bike but now a few companies are offering bike speakers. These come in two categories, those with built in memory and those which require you to wire them up to your existing MP3 player and are just speakers.
External Player (speakers only):
Now the advantage of having one that you can wire to your MP3 player is that this option, depending on the size of you MP3 player, will generally allow you to carry more music around with you. However, this type of system does have two major drawback.
You’ve got to connect your MP3 player to it! The options are either wires everywhere or via a wireless connection. The downside to wires is obvious – they become a nuisance, having to have them wrapped around everywhere. The other option is via a wireless signal, and this is bound to drain your MP3 players battery very quickly!
Not only do you have these downsides, but you’ll also need somewhere to store your MP3 player, as though the bike speaker may be waterproof, chances are your MP3 player isn’t! So that means you either need to have a rucksack on, put it in a saddle bag. My MP3 speaker is a few years old and with spare inner tubes and tools it wouldn’t fit in my saddle bag. It would also be quite uncomfortable having its weight in my pocket.
Bike MP3 Player (Storage and Speakers):
The solution to this is to choose a bike speaker with built in storage. You may not get as much storage space – but do you really need every single song you own on it? On the upside, it makes the unit a lot more compact, as it is all built into one part.
There are a few MP3 bike speakers on the market, but I’d have to say that the best one I’ve found is the Lavod MP3 Bike Speaker and Flashlight. This clips onto your bike’s handle bars and has a quick release so you can easily take it off at the end of a ride, but it is secure enough that it won’t come off during a ride!
The reason I like this bike speaker so much is that it also comes with a nifty little, built in, front light. My bike’s handlebars don’t have that much room left with my cycle computer and other accessories, so the fact that I can use this as a front light too is a great way to utilise the space.
As well as being multi-functional, this wonderful gadget isn’t big and bulky like some of it’s competitors which makes it easier to carry around and use.
On this website I have reviewed the Lavod MP3 speaker and you can find out the best places to buy one online via mp3-bike-speaker.co.uk! I hope you find it useful!
